NaNoWriMo

Welcome to the Aethra Firma novel blog! During the month of November, I'll be attempting the National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) challenge of writing a 50,000 word short novel. I hope to pace my "novel" to catch up to the current storyline of AF. Most of the established characters will be used, with some changes.

I'm looking at my little project as a first draft of a project that I'll come back to finish when the current story arc is completed. I'm trying use as many player-made details and events as possible while changing many details to make the story flow a little more smoothly

I'm excited about this! Updates will include my progress (which should amount to 1700 words daily) and maybe some smaller posts with thoughts about the story or what I'm up to.

For anyone who's hardcore about NaNoWriMo, yes, I cheated a little bit by starting NaNoWriMo about a week early, but honestly I only made any progress on three of the days due to travel and laptop failures. I was on vacation from the military life, excited about getting started, and I had the free time to spare. Sue me! :P


I'm gonna go ahead and post my first section just as a taster. It's a prologue based on Zyanya's char sheet and a few week 1 threads. She's more sociopathic than in the game, and I changed the purpose of the interrogation to be chasing down Anton directly. I like the transition from Zyanya's brutality to her.. cuter qualities.
